David Burlacu
About
Hey, my name is David Burlacu. I am a Guitarist, Composer, Producer, and Educator based in Toronto, Canada. I discovered my love for music at the age of 12, after my dad taught me a few chords on guitar. From that point on, I couldn’t put the guitar down as I fell into a world of music. In my last year of high school, I decided I wanted to pursue music further.
I completed the introduction to Commercial Jazz certificate program in 2017 and then graduated from Humber College in 2022 with a Bachelors of Music specializing in guitar. During my time at Humber College, I garnered my skills in Performance, Composition, Production, and recorded my 3-song EP in 2022 at Humber College’s Gordon Wragg Studio.
In the last 6 years, I formed the jazz fusion band Oriflamme, joined the Toronto All-Star Big Band. With these groups, I’ve performed at Toronto Undergraduate Jazz Festival, Beaches Jazz Fest, Dundas West Fest, Mel Lastman Square, OssFest, Long Winter Festival, and toured across Florida. I also scored a short film, Revelations (2023)! Lately you can catch me playing 90s Rock music with All That and a Bag of Chips, Jazz standards with John Amato and Lucy Ellis, RnB music with dichotomi, Flamenco Music with Barbod Soltani, and various other projects around the city.
